I got up at 7 am, showered, and had a DIY breakfast. I then packed the rest of my panniers and put them on the bike in the porch down stairs. I thanked the Señora and set out for the ferry terminal. Having checked in, I joined the other two-wheelers and had a chat with a cyclist, Anthony, who was also riding a Dawes. He had been cycling in the Pyrenees and around Barcelona, and camping.PHOTOS: NoneOnce on board we had to wait for the crew to finish preparing our cabins. I then waited until 10:30 BST to get my Pesetas changed into pounds. I got £92 for 26,000 pts. I had a snack at about 11 am and lunch in the self-service. I am still eating as though I was cycling! I had a tour of the ship and then a snooze in my cabin until 4 pm. I bought Jenny’s perfume, and had a pint of Kronenborg, then to the cinema to see “Proof of Life.” It was quite a good film.
I had dinner in the self-service. I joined Anthony who was just finishing his meal. He works as a Mechanical Engineer for an agricultural machinery manufacturer. He travels quite a bit too and lives in Ivybridge. We had a drink in the bar, and watched the cabaret conjurer. Anthony had made friends with a French cyclist, Guillaume, from near Saintes. He joined us for a while. We talked about cycling for a bit, then I excused myself and I went to bed.
