Again I did not get a good night’s sleep and probably worse than in Pamplona. I don’t know what the problem is; must sleep properly tonight. Señora did breakfast for some of us, for 30 pts (12 p!). We rather waded in to the bread, so she produced more! She also did hot water for me to make my tea. I left at about 8:50 am.PHOTOS: NoneIt was a tough journey all day with a very strong cold North wind. I visited the church in Torres de Rio, but it was locked. The church of Santiago in Logroño was open. I also had a freshly squeezed orange juice and a bocadillo in one of the bars. Navarrete did not have much to offer, but I had my bread and cheese there. I tried to get in the refuge at Nájera, but they would not accept bikes until after 8 pm; far too late. I was recommended to try Azofra, 5 kilometres away. Here I was accepted with my bike. It was a small and very friendly refuge with 26 beds. Here I talked with the first English pilgrim I have met on the route. He seemed very interested in the difference between cycling and walking the camino. Another Spanish pilgrim, who spoke very good English, kindly phoned the Bar that does meals for pilgrims and checked the time they start serving - 7 pm.
I bought more cheese in the village shop and walked into the bar just after 7 pm.
